Director, Accreditation and Quality

Mary-Haston Vest, PharmD, MS, BCPS is Director, Pharmacy Accreditation and Quality with the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). She supports the surveys and accreditation for international hospital pharmacy, international pharmacy residency and Center of Excellence certification programs. Previously, she was the System Director of Pharmacy with University of North Carolina (UNC) Health, and an Associate Professor of Clinical Education at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. In this role, she lead the Medication Management and Optimization, Pharmacy Analytics and Outcomes, and Strategic Sourcing and Shortages Management teams, providing support across the 17 hospital health-system. Her professional interests include improving patient care through high quality research and measurement, to demonstrate the value of pharmacy services while furthering innovation within the profession. She has been on the teams recognized with two ASHP Best Practices Award. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy, and completed a PGY1 and PGY2 residency program in Health-System Pharmacy Administration at UNC Medical Center and M.S. from the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy.
