Retired Vice President and Chief Pharmacy Officer

Kevin J. Colgan, M.A., R.Ph., FASHP, retired in 2022 from the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was Vice President and Chief Pharmacy Officer. During his time at the University of Chicago, he implemented many new inpatient and outpatient pharmacy services. Those programs and services were responsible for growing pharmacy revenue to over 80% of the earnings of the medical center.
He is the past chairman of the Board of Directors of St. Louis College of Pharmacy and also the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists where he was their President in 2008. In 2021, he was the Webb Lecture Awardee, an honor presented annually to pharmacy practitioners or educators who have distinguished themselves through extraordinary dedication to fostering excellence in pharmacy management or administration. He received the Illinois Council of Health-System Pharmacists Amy Lodolce Mentorship Award in 2013, the St. Louis College of Pharmacy Outstanding Achievement Award in 2004 and the Hospital Pharmacist of the Year Award from the Illinois Council of Hospital Pharmacists in 1993.
Colgan previously served as corporate director of pharmacy at Rush University Medical Center, Assistant Vice President of Specialty Pharmacy at University Health System Consortium and Senior Vice President at EPI-Q, Inc, a clinical research firm. He also spent 16 years as director of pharmacy at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Illinois.
